Blonde (& Tan)

I was thinking about how blonde and tan is no longer a neutral look (assuming that, long ago, it was). It has been trademarked, defined, and bought by slutty rich bitches. Even the word 'blonde' has had the misfortune of being tied up with a ditzy personality type and lack of intelligence. These days, any girl consciously seeking platinum blonde locks with glowing orange skin is aspiring to look like a slutty rich bitch, whether they wish to admit it or not. It could be subconscious, like a little voice in the back of her head that whispers "be Paris Hilton," or she could be very aware of it, succumbing to the endless media seige of "Girls Next Door" and the like, and deciding that it's better to be slutty and stupid than...well, anything else.

But there's still hope for blonde. The model Agyness Deyn, for example, with her light skin, bony frame and short cut, is working to reclaim blonde for the decent folk.

Agyness is one of my favorite models.
I'm so glad you presented her as an example of what is to be revered.

On top of that, I'm olive and a brunette.
Thus, I am officially NOT a slutty rich bitch...at least externally.

Yes, Aggy... Is there anything she does wrong?

I think the only people in the world who can pull off blonde/tan probably live in California, near the beach, and their hair isn't blonde because they payed $300 to have it highlighted, it's blonde because they're out surfing all the time. Same with the tan; made, not sprayed. LOL
